Natural materials change over time. That is their great advantage: they gain character instead of looking tired.
Woods
Oak is pale and hard-wearing and warms to honey. Walnut is darker and richly figured, softening slightly in sunlight. Both take an oiled finish beautifully.
Textiles
Linen is cool, breathable and relaxed; it creases, and that is the point. Wool is warm, resilient and naturally slow to soil.
Stone and clay
Travertine is a porous limestone with a soft, matte surface. Stoneware is fired hard for everyday use, and reactive glazes make every piece unique.
