Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills straight away. Refresh oiled surfaces once or twice a year with a hardwax oil.
Upholstery
Vacuum gently with an upholstery brush, plump cushions often and blot spills rather than rubbing them.
Stone and ceramics
Use coasters, wipe with a damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner, and avoid acidic spills on stone.
