Materials and craft
Nature in every detail.
The materials we choose shape how a piece looks, feels and ages. Here is what to expect from each of them, and how to look after them.

01
Oak
Oak is dense, strong and pale, with a straight, close grain. Oiled, it keeps a soft, natural sheen and can be refreshed rather than refinished. Expect it to mellow towards honey over the years.

02
Walnut
Walnut is darker and more richly figured, with chocolate tones and lighter streaks. Its colour softens a little in sunlight. Every board is different, so no two pieces are identical.

03
Linen
Linen is woven from flax. It breathes, it is cool in summer and warm in winter, and it softens with every wash. Natural slubs and gentle creases are part of its charm.

04
Wool
Wool is resilient and naturally slow to soil. In rugs and throws it gives a quiet, matte texture and keeps its shape for years with simple care.

05
Stone
Travertine is a limestone formed by mineral springs. Its pores, veins and colour shifts are natural; seal it and wipe up spills promptly.

06
Ceramic
Stoneware is fired at high temperatures for strength. Reactive glazes move in the kiln, pooling and breaking over edges, so each piece carries its own variations.
